Good design speaks volumes. Here’s a short embroidery guide to help your custom t-shirts turn out amazing:
- Keep the design simple. Photos, gradients, tiny gaps, and ultra-fine detail don’t hold up well in embroidery.
- Use thicker lines. The minimum line thickness is 0.05″, and lowercase text should start at 0.25″.
- Watch the placement area. Standard apparel embroidery uses a 4 × 4″ zone, but you can go big with 10 × 6″designs on select t-shirts.
- Plan colors early. We support 15 thread colors and up to six per design. If your art uses blue, black, white, red, orange, yellow, purple, brown, or tan tones outside that palette, the closest match will be used.
- Upload a high-resolution PNG or JPEG. Printify digitizes files for free.
