How to apply and care for your iron-on patches
Standard application
To apply custom patches, you’ll need an iron or heat press and a flat, hard surface.
Wash and fully dry your garment before applying patches. This removes oils that can prevent the patch from sticking. Put the patch where you want it to go, then flip the patch and fabric over so the wrong side is facing up.
Set your iron to medium-high heat (320–350°F / 160–180°C), press down on the back of the fabric firmly without sliding, and hold for the recommended time (usually 30 seconds). Let the patch cool completely before touching the garment.
Always check adhesive instructions first, as some backing options may require different application techniques.
Caring for garments with iron-on patches
Wash inside out with cold water and avoid high-heat drying. For extra staying power on heavy-use items, a few stitches around the edges work wonders.
