No. Printify handles all the embroidery production through our network of professional print providers. You upload your design, choose a product, and we stitch it onto the garment. No machine, no thread, no experience required.
Digitization is the process of converting your artwork into a machine-readable stitch file. Printify includes this automatically when you place an embroidery order — there is no extra charge. Note that digitization takes up to 36 hours after ordering, so factor that into your delivery estimates.
Upload your design as a high-resolution PNG, SVG, or JPG. Printify's Product Creator will handle the conversion to an embroidery stitch file. For best results, use bold, simple designs with solid colors — avoid gradients, very fine details, or tiny text below 5mm.
You can use up to 6 thread colors per design, selected from a fixed palette of 15 available colors. Custom Pantone or hex codes are not currently supported — Printify matches the closest available thread color to your design.
The standard embroidery area is 4×4 inches, which works for chest logos and smaller designs. Select jackets, hoodies, and sweatshirts support a large embroidery area of up to 10×6 inches — ideal for bold, statement designs across the chest or back.
Creating a Printify account and listing embroidery products is 100% free. You only pay the base product cost when a customer places an order — starting from $11.22 for a Bella+Canvas tee. No monthly fees, no setup costs, no minimum order quantities.
