We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Chief Accountant who is ready to grow and develop together with the company as well as support growing operations and enjoy a fun to work atmosphere.
Your responsibilities
- Team Development and Work Planning:
- Participating in the accounting team selection and development
- Work delegation and review of daily tasks of Accountant team
- Internal Accountant team coaching and learning process organization
- Accounting and Reporting:
- Plan and organize month-end and year-end closing and reporting activities including consolidation
- Participate in monthly consolidated management report preparation
- Participate in Group accounting software implementation
- Implement GL account reconciliation processes to ensure their accuracy
- Contribute to local and global projects from Accounting & Reporting perspective
- Support internal teams and external parties with specific accounting, reporting and tax related questions
- Organize team work for processing of AP/ AR invoices as well as GL transaction in the most efficient way
- Review of payroll calculation for 200+ employees performed by accounting department
- Develop and implement internal accounting controls
- Statutory Compliance and Tax Reporting:
- Standalone as well as Consolidated financial statement preparation and communication with auditors
- Monthly tax return preparation and submission process organization and review for group’s international operations (VAT, Sales tax, PIT, Social Tax)
- Corporate income tax return preparation and review
- Other Local and Group tax return review and reconciliation
What you need
- Strong financial and numeracy skills are required, including high levels of accuracy
- Hands-on approach and “getting things done” mindset
- 3+ years work experience as a Chief accountant in a dynamic and international work environment, preferably within a group of companies
- Previous experience with Consolidated Management report and Consolidated Financial Statement preparation
- Very good knowledge of Latvian accounting standards and tax legislation (knowledge of US GAAP will be considered as an advantage)
- Experience with Group accounting software implementation projects
- Willingness to automate manual internal accounting processes and previous experience in process automation
- Previous experience with accounting software Horizon will be considered as an advantage
- Previous experience in team work planning and prioritization, work with outsourced service providers, consultants, auditors
- Degree in accounting, finance or economics
- Excellent command of Latvian and English
- High sense of responsibility and ability to comply with deadlines
- Adaptability in a fast-moving environment
- Outstanding organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Strong ability to prioritize and provide clear directions
- Very good Excel skills
